Market Update for June 3, 2019



In today's update:

1) Stocks closed mixed on Monday after news that Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN, Facebook (FB), and Alphabet (GOOGL) face potential antitrust probe by the Justice Department. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 4.74 or 0.02%, the S&P 500 fell 7.61 or 0.28% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 120.13 or 1.61% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 4.50 or 0.31%.

Market Update for June 2, 2019



In today's update:

1) Both stocks and bond yields fell sharply on Friday after Trump announced plans to impose escalating tariffs on Mexico. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 354.84 or 1.41%, the S&P 500 fell 36.80 or 1.32% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 114.57 or 1.51% and the Russell 2000 finish lower by 20.04 or 1.35%.

In today's update:

1) Worries over an economic slowdown escalated Wednesday after bond yields plunged and equities closed sharply lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 221.36 or 0.87%, the S&P 500 fell 19.37 or 0.69% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 60.04 or 0.79% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 14.07 or 0.94%.

In today's update:

1) Money continued to flow out of Equities and into Bonds on Tuesday as hopes for a U.S. - China trade deal start to fade. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 237.92 or 0.93%, the S&P 500 fell 23.67 or 0.84% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 29.66 or 0.39% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 10.09 or 0.67%.

Market Update for May 27, 2019



In today's update:

1) U.S. Equity markets closed higher on Friday but did post a loss for the week as fears linger over the possibility of no trade deal between the U.S. and China. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 95.22 or 0.37%, the S&P 500 added 3.82 or 0.14% while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 8.72 or 0.11% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 12.73 or 0.85%.

In today's update:

1) U.S. Equity markets closed significantly lower on Thursday as concern grows over the lock of ongoing U.S. - China trade talks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 286.14 or 1.11%, the S&P 500 fell 34.03 or 1.19% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 122.56 or 1.58% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 30.25 0r 1.97%.

Market Update for May 22, 2019



In today's update:

1) FOMC meeting minutes confirmed that the Federal Reserve sees no rate moves coming "for some time" but stocks still closed lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 100.72 or 0.39%, the S&P 500 fell 8.09 or 0.28% while the Nasdaq closed lower by 34.88 or 0.45% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 13.62 or 0.88%.

Market Update for May 21, 2019



In today's update:

1) Chip stocks helped the Technology sector rebound resulting in significant gains for U.S. Equity markets after the U.S. decided to ease restrictions on Huawei Technologies. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 197.43 or 0.77%, the S&P 500 added 24.13 or 0.85% while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 83.35 or 1.08% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 20.28 or 1.33%.

In today's update:

1) Stocks closed mostly in the red today led by technology companies who started to comply with Trump's decision to Blacklist Huawei Technologies. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 84.10 or 0.33%, the S&P 500 fell 19.30 or 0.67% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 113.91 or 1.46% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 10.80 or 0.70%.

In today's update:

1) Stocks took a turn for the worse on Friday and finished in the red after U.S. - China trade talks broke off. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 98.68 or 0.38%, the S&P 500 fell 16.79 or 0.58% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 81.76 or 1.04% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 21.48 or 1.38%.
