Market Update for April 11, 2019
In Today's Update:
1) Another very quiet day on Wall Street as stocks finished virtually unchanged ahead of earnings season kick-off. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 14.11 or 0.05%, the S&P 500 added 0.11 or 0.00% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 16.88 or 0.21% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 2.41 or 0.15%.
2) Crude Oil Futures closed significantly lower dropping $0.90 or 1.39% while Gold Futures plunged $17.80 or 1.35% after a rebound in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market finished the day lower and the yield on the 10-year Treasury Note settled at 2.498%.
3) Uber has made it official, the ride-hailing service company has finally filed for an Initial Public Offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Uber will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "UBER" and will reportedly be seeking a valuation of up to $120 billion.
