Market Update for April 8, 2019
In Today's Update:
1) U.S. Equities started the day lower led by shares of Boeing and General Electric but rallied in afternoon trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 83.97 or 0.32%, the S&P 500 added 3.03 or 0.10% while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 15.19 or 0.19% and the Russell 2000 finish lower by 3.55 or 0.22%.
2) U.S. Crude Oil Futures continued to climb Monday trading higher by $1.35 or 2.14% while Gold Futures advanced $6.00 or 0.46% on weakness in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market traded lower and the yield on the 10-year Treasury Note settled at 2.520%.
3) Shares of Boeing (BA) and General Electric (GE) closed significantly lower today after receiving downgrades. BA was moved to Neutral from Buy by Merrill Lynch and closed lower by $17.41 or 4.44% while GE was downgraded by JP Morgan and finished the day down by $0.52 or 5.19%.
