Market Update for August 2, 2018
In today's video:
1) Apple Inc. (AAPL) set a new record on Wall Street and the rest of big Tech follow suit as the main U.S. equity indexes close mostly higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 7.66 points, the S&P 500 gained 13.86 points while they Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 95.40 points and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 12.84 points.
2) U.S. Crude Oil Futures bounced back nicely closing higher by $1.31 or 1.94% while Gold Futures dropped sharply on more strength in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market traded slightly higher moving the yield on the 10-year treasury note down to 2.986.
3) The S&P 500 index received a boost from the Technology sector today and looks poised to continue its uptrend. AAPL led the way and became the first publicly traded company to reach $1 trillion in market cap.
