Market Update for December 27, 2018
In Today's Update:
1) Another wild trading session on Wall Street as the Dow stages a massive come back after falling 600 points in early trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 260.37 or 1.14%, the S&P 500 added 21.13 or 0.86% while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 25.14 or 0.38% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 2.03 or 0.15%.
2) Crude Oil Futures gave back part of yesterday's gains dropping $0.56 or 1.23% while Gold Futures continued to climb closing higher by $4.70 or 0.37%. The Bond market was flat today and the yield on the 10-year treasury note settled at 2.784%.
3) Sears Holding Corp (SHLDQ) has been in business for 125 years but may be down to its last 24 hours. Sears has seen its share price drop from a high of $195.18 in April of 2007 to today's closing price of just $0.17 and if the retailer doesn't get a bid in the next 24 hours they will most likely begin to liquidate leaving more than 68,000 employees out of work.
