Market Update for Dec 10, 2019

In today's update:

1) U.S. Equity markets closed mostly lower on Tuesday ahead of the Fed's decision on interest rates tomorrow. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 27.88 or 0.10%, the S&P 500 fell 3.44 or 0.11% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 5.64 or 0.07% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 2.10 or 0.13%.

2) Crude Oil Futures were flat today closing higher by just $0.06 or 0.10% while Gold Futures added $4.00 or 0.27% on slight weakness in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market traded flat and the yield on the 10-Year Treasury note settled at 1.843%.

3) Analyst Laura Martin from The Needham Group downgraded shares of Netflix Inc. (NFLX) to underperform from neutral saying that Netflix could lose 4 million U.S. subscribers due to competition in 2020. Netflix shares closed lower by $9.38 or 3.10% in today's regular trading session and are currently trading unchanged in today's after-hours trading session.
