Market Update for December 12, 2018

In Today's Update:

1) Stocks closed mostly higher on signs of easing trade tensions with China but finished another volatile trading session well off their highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 157.03 or 0.64%, the S&P 500 added 14.29 or 0.54% while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 66.48 or 0.95% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 15.19 or 1.05%.

2) Crude Oil Futures ended the day lower down $0.49 or 0.95% while Gold Futures gained $3.40 or 0.27% on weakness in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market traded lower lifting the yield on the 10-year treasury note up to 2.914%.

3) Shares of Under Armour Inc. (UA) gapped and closed sharply lower today after the branded performance apparel and footwear company lowered its earnings outlook for fiscal 2018. UA shares fell $1.86 or 8.91% and closed at $19.01.
