1) U.S. Equity markets managed to post slight gains and close in record territory after one of the lightest volume days of the year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 31.33 or 0.11%, the S&P 500 added 1.57 or 0.05% while the NASDAQ 100 closed Higher by 9.11 or 0.11% and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 4.11 or 0.26%.
2) Crude Oil Futures fell sharply to close lower by $0.82 or 1.42% on concerns over trade and rising supply levels while Gold Futures advanced $3.10 or 0.21% on weakness in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market closed slightly higher and the yield on the 10-Year Treasury Note settled at 1.816%.
3) After-market close, Apple Inc. (AAPL) announced a press event to be held in New York City on December 2nd of this year. The company said it plans to talk about its favorite apps and games of the year. Shares of AAPL closed higher by $1.34 or 0.50% and are currently trading higher by another $0.41 or 0.15% in the after-hours trading session.
