Market Update for July 25, 2018
In today's update:
1) A late-day rally helps stocks close higher after trade talks between the U.S. and the E.U. show promise. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 172.16 points, the S&P 500 added 25.67 points while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 91.47 points and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 5.01 points.
2) Gold Futures managed to gain $6.40 by the official close as the U.S. dollar weekend while Crude Oil spiked $0.74 or 1.08% after a drop in stockpiles. The Bond market traded slightly lower and the yield on the 10-year treasury note moved up to 2.978.
3) All the buying during the regular trading session has not carried over into the after-hours session. In fact, there is a ton of selling going on led by shareholders of Facebook (FB) and Ford Motor Company (F) and many other big-name stocks are following suit.
