Market Update for June 12, 2019
In today's update:
1) Stocks slide for a second straight session as Technology and Bank shares sustain more losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 43.68 or 0.17%, the S&P 500 fell 5.88 or 0.20% while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 29.85 or 0.38% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 0.68 or 0.05%.
2) Crude Oil Futures plunged again closing lower by $2.27 or 4.26% on yet another surprise build in U.S. Crude stockpiles while Gold Futures gained another $5.90 or 0.44% despite a rebound in the U.S. dollar. The Bond market traded slightly higher and the yield on the 10-year Treasury Note settled at 2.118%.
3) Lululemon Athletica Inc, the athletic apparel retailer and distributor, announced quarterly earnings after market close and beat analyst estimates handily. The company's total comparable sales rose 14% compared to an expected rise of 11.6% and they raised their full-year guidance. Shares of LULU are currently trading higher by $6.41 per share or 3.75% in the after-hours trading session.
