Market Update for October 25, 2018
In Today's Update:
1) U.S. equities rebound sharply led by the Technology sector, but judging by today's after-hours trading session, this rebound may be short-lived. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 401.13 or 1.63%, the S&P 500 added 49.47 or 1.86% while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 209.94 or 2.95% and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 31.69 or 2.16%.
2) The Bond market resumed its trend lower today lifting the yield on the 10-year treasury note to 3.124% while the U.S. dollar Index continued its climb inching closer to its 52-week high of 96.98. Crude Oil Futures closed slightly higher gaining $0.19 or 0.28% and Gold Futures also managed a slight gain closing $3.00 or 0.24% higher at the official close.
3) Today's after-hours trading session has been a roller coaster ride after another busy day on the earnings front. Amazon.com (AMZN), Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL), Intel Corp. (INTC), Snap Inc. (SNAP), Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Expedia Group (EXPE), and Gilead Sciences (GILD) all reported earnings and several are trading significantly lower which may impact tomorrow's trading session.
