Market Update for September 11, 2018
In today's video:
1) U.S. equities end today's trading session higher and may be ready to kick-off another run higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 113.99 points, the S&P 500 added 10.76 points while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 48.31 points and the Russell 2000 finished higher by 0.94 points.
2) Crude Oil Futures spiked 2.69% on concerns over Hurricane Florence as it approaches the U.S. East Coast while Gold Futures added $2.70 on more weakness in the U.S. dollar. Yields continue to climb as the Bond market came under pressure again today lifting the yield on the 10-year treasury note up to 2.981%.
3) Typically, the month of September can be a challenging one for traders and investors. More often than not, the month of September ends lower than where it began but this September feels like it could be very different and today's close may have signaled the start of another move higher for stocks.
