Market Update for September 27, 2018
In today's video:
1) U.S. equities closed mostly higher after big technology stocks led by Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN) bounced back. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 54.65 points, the S&P 500 added 8.03 points while the Nasdaq 100 closed higher by 51.60 points and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 1.08 points.
2) The U.S. dollar moved significantly higher today after yesterday's rate hike by the Fed resulting in a steep drop for Gold Futures. Crude Oil Futures advanced slightly while the Bond market held steady and the yield on the 10-year treasury note settled at 3.054%.
3) Everything that happened during today's regular trading session feels completely irrelevant compared to what's happening to shares of Tesla in the after-hours session. After-market close, it was announced that the SEC is charging Elon musk with fraud after his August tweet about taking the company public. Shares of Tesla are down over $34.00 per share or a little over 11%.
